Cherry Finish Wood Cremation Urns This line of urns features a stunning, cherry red stained finish over solid white wood. When engraved, the natural wood color and grain shines through creating a one of a kind engraving dedicated to your loved one. What Size Urn Do I Need? Our cherry finish wood urns are all adult capacity or above (i.e. companion urn). The capacity range is 200-370 cubic inches. The general rule of thumb is 1 lb of live body weight equals 1 cubic inch of ash. If using with ashes provided from aquamation instead of cremation, please note that aquamation can result in up to 20% additional volume (i.e 1 lb = 1.2 cubic inches). If the urn features a photo window, install the desired picture into the front photo window space and then place the ashes or bag of cremains into the empty compartment. For permanent sealing, an adhesive (not included) may be applied to the screws before re-installing the bottom plate. Inset Wooden Plate For urns that feature an inset bottom plate, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove all four screws. The urn may need to be turned fully upright for the plate to come out. If the plate still sticks, use a thin flat edge such as a ruler to pop out the panel. Place the ashes or bag of cremains directly into the empty space. For permanent sealing, an adhesive (not included) may be applied to the inner lip before re-installing the bottom screws and plate on the urn. Slider Top For the slider urn, simply pull the top out from the side with the hollow indentation. The indent can be used as a gripping point if the slide is a bit difficult initially. Insert the ashes or bag of cremains directly into the urn container space. To permanently seal the slide top, apply a small amount of adhesive (not included) to the recessed slide areas. Be sure to apply to the sides and the back recessed point for an even seal. Note: If urn is not sealed, the slide top can move freely and may fall out when tilted. Engraving Options (Available Options Will Vary) Actual Photo Simply send us a photo of your loved one or beloved pet - the higher resolution the photo the more detail is able to be captured in the final result engraving. Actual photo engraving will cut through the cherry finish revealing the white wood grain underneath. Due to the natural qualities of wood, the exact color and shading of the engraving may vary throughout the urn surface. Actual Handwriting For the actual handwriting engraving, simply send us a photo or scan of the handwriting you would like us to engrave. The amount of text that can be engraved varies slightly from urn to urn but generally allows for 3 or more lines of 25 characters each. A character is a letter, number, symbol, or space.
