Just want to say most of the reviews here have pics associated with them that are a French style easel that is used for field art with a carrying handle and adjustable legs. This one is a tilt tripod with static legs and adjustable platform/tray for painting. The tray moves very easily up or down but is still very stable (notice the locking mechanism under tray). My daughter is our little Picasso and at only 42" tall she will be able to comfortably paint. Because the top and bottom of the "clamps" are movable, you could entertain at least a 6 1/2 foot tall canvas. Also different from the the other pics is the lip to the top clamp. As well, there's a nice tilt feature which great for getting that comfortable angle--especially good use for the lip on the top clamp. Overall impression: I love the easel! Very well designed and great quality wood. Installation was super easy, but one step is fouled up, although easy to realize what to do next. I think the whole family will be able to use it and comfortably (even a 7 ft tall person could use it and be happy).I don't know if they redesigned it or just put out a different model under the same reviews, but most of the customer pics are not a representation of what the product is as of 3/27/17. Take careful note of the pics that seller has posted because those are the accurate representation.
